Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund participated in the opening of a new glass container production facility at the Mailuu-Suu Lamp Plant JSC
On August 29, 2025, a solemn ceremony was held in the city of Mailuu-Suu to mark the opening of a new glass container production facility at the Mailuu-Suu Lamp Plant JSC. The event was attended by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, representatives of government bodies, the business community, and international partners. At the invitation of the organizing committee, the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (HKDF) was represented by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Kanat Kurmanov.
The launch of the new production facility is an important step in the development of Kyrgyzstan’s industrial potential. To date, the plant has completed 98% of preparatory works and is ready to begin full-scale production.
Background: In March and August 2024, the Mailuu-Suu Lamp Plant JSC received financing from the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund in the total amount of USD 500,000. The funds were allocated for the purchase of key technological equipment previously used at the Hungarian plant Tungsram. In June 2024, the equipment procured under the first project was delivered from Hungary, after which the company began commissioning works. The Fund’s financing enabled the plant to significantly modernize its production facilities and prepare for the release of competitive products in demand both in the domestic and foreign markets. The HKDF continues to consistently support projects aimed at developing industry and creating new jobs, contributing to the strengthening of economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary.
