A large Hungarian company is interested in importing Kyrgyz honey to the European Union

On February 2, 2022, a meeting was held between the Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Dzhanybekov with the Hungarian trading and manufacturing company Fulmer Apiary to discuss the supply of Kyrgyz honey to the European Union. The Hungarian company highly appreciated the quality of Kyrgyz honey as an environmentally friendly product and expressed interest in importing products to Hungary with subsequent sale on the European market.

For his part, the Minister noted the high potential of honey production in the republic and the readiness of the sector to meet the demand of the European market for high-quality environmentally friendly products. The Minister also assured that all measures are being taken to lift the ban on the export of Kyrgyz honey to the European Union.

During the negotiations, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund T. Erkinov noted the importance of further cooperation and support in this direction, including possible funding from the Fund.

Fulmer Apiary arrived in Kyrgyzstan at the invitation of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund. During the visit, a number of meetings are planned with domestic exporters, as well as with beekeepers from Chui, Naryn, Issyk-Kul and Osh regions.

For reference: Fulmer Apiary was founded in 1929. The company is one of the leaders in the production of honey in Europe. The honey processing factory is located in the city of Dunavarsany (Hungary). The company annually produces, processes and sells 4,000 tons of honey. A feature of this company is working directly with beekeepers, a high level of quality control and compliance with European standards.
