The Kyrgyz-Hungarian business forum "Kyrgyz-Hungarian economic cooperation" was held in Budapest
On June 15, 2022, the Kyrgyz-Hungarian business forum "Kyrgyz-Hungarian economic cooperation" was held in the city of Budapest. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Hungary Talantbek Kushchubekov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Katalin Bihari addressed the forum participants with greetings. In his opening speech, Ambassador T. Kushchubekov emphasized the importance of establishing direct contacts with representatives of the business community of the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary. In turn, Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary K. Bihari outlined the priority areas of cooperation and noted the mutual desire to build up trade and economic cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
The forum was dedicated to the launch of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, as well as the hydropower potential of the Kyrgyz Republic and investment opportunities in the construction of small and medium-sized hydropower plants. The Chairman of Management Board of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund Temirbek Erkinov spoke to the forum participants, he spoke about the priority sectors of the economy and the conditions for obtaining funding from the Fund. Also, the head of the Department of Energy Efficiency, Energy Saving and Development of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mirgul Askarova, who presented the country's water potential and spoke about the development opportunities for small and medium hydropower, the conditions for the construction of hydroelectric power plants, the legislation and regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic in this area and the payback period of hydropower plants.
The forum was attended by over 40 Hungarian companies interested in cooperation with Kyrgyz partners in the field of engineering, energy, agriculture, agricultural processing, fisheries, construction and other sectors of the economy. During the forum, the participants had the opportunity to ask their questions and get qualified answers to them.
As part of the event, the guests were offered lunch, Kyrgyz melodies performed by the famous Kyrgyz musician Bakyt Chatyrbaev (kyl-kyyak).
