Participation in the forum "New Economic Challenges of Long-term Development of the Kyrgyz Republic"

At the invitation of Sanjar Bolotov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ulan Sarbanov, Chairman of the Board of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, took part in the forum "New Economic Challenges of Long-term Development of the Kyrgyz Republic" (September 11, 2024, Hyatt Regency Bishkek Hotel). The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic organized the event. As noted by the organizers, the forum intended to highlight "economic factors of long-term development of the Kyrgyz Republic, including a discussion of the features of the development of a green economy and financing, the challenges of climate change, as well as the investment potential of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic."

Speakers at the event included:

• Mr. Bo Li, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), who spoke about the current and future development of the global economy, shared the IMF's views on the challenges and key areas of reform to ensure long-term economic growth;

• Mr. Meder Mashiev, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, detailed the actions of the Kyrgyz Republic in connection with the ongoing climate change;

• Ms. Nazgul Usenova, Deputy Minister of Energy, reported on the work carried out on the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1. Melis Turgunbaev, Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, moderated the forum.
