Kyrgyzstan and Hungary discussed plans for the work of the Development Fund

On 3 May 2022, Minister of Economy and Commerce Mr. Daniyar Amangeldiev met with Mr. Peter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary, in Bishkek.

The meeting was held within the official visit of the Hungarian Foreign Minister to the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting the ministers discussed the work of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, in particular the completion of the process of coordination and approval of the basic regulatory internal documents. Both parties pointed out that the Fund is ready for implementing the selection of investment projects and subsequent low interest loans by the HKDF.

They also discussed the projects of joint ventures in the field of power stations, water industry, import of Hungarian cattle to the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the supply of ATMs.

The share capital of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Development Fund is $16 million with further increase to $50 million

“As Mr. P. Szijjártó noted that the implementation of these projects will allow to proceed to the stage of further increasing the share capital by $34 million, according to the earlier agreements,” the ministry informed.
